SAAS Financial Suite   2016-2017

Client: Socrata Open Data www.socrata.com
Roles: UX Architect and Application Product Designer (Contract)
Project: Development of an integrated framework and modern UI for several related Open Data SAAS financial applications.
Problem/Task:  Existing workflows existed in separate applications – restricting the seamless and fluid analysis of financial data. Data related to user’s explorations needed contextual information in order to provide insights to users.
Process:  Benchmark analysis, user research, problem definition, formation of experience hypothesis, prototyping in medium and hi fidelity, user testing / design iteration, visual design and production.
Solution:  An integrated SAAS application with real time contextual data relevant to the end user’s exploration.

Data Ingress Pipeline    2016-2017

Client: Socrata Open Data www.socrata.com
Roles: UX Architect and Application Product Designer (Contract)
Project:  Redesign of the Ingress, Data Wrangling and Visualization Pipeline.
Problem/Task:  Current pipeline workflows are slow, difficult to understand and lacking features in the areas of data typing and meta data.
Process:  Benchmark analysis, user research, problem definition, formation of experience hypothesis, prototyping in medium and hi fidelity, user testing and design iteration, visual design and production.
Solution:  A strategic UX plan for the incremental development of the Data Ingress Pipeline.

Microsoft Hololens   2016

XBOX E2E Developer Experience    2015-2016

Project: Improving the end to end experience of Xbox developers
Problem/Task:  Existing end to end experience was confusing and inefficient.  End to end experience included initial awareness in the market, working with the existing system of MSFT divisions and their web presences, developer tooling and the publication pipeline.
Process:  Benchmark analysis, user research, problem definition, formation of experience hypothesis and prototyping.
Solution/Product : Comprehensive strategic plan for improvements in the end to end experience.

XBOX Developer Tools    2015-2016

Role: UX Architect / Designer (Contract)
Project: Improving Microsoft’s game development tools.
Problem/Task:  Microsoft’s game developer tools were developed by separate development teams without a common UI approach.  There was a need to bring these tools together into a common UX approach and to develop a “platform” that would integrate them.  Additionally, there was a need to develop new UI for a range of command line workflows found in the SDK.
Process:  Benchmark analysis, user research, problem definition and experience hypothesis, prototyping, user testing and design iteration, visual design and production.
Solution/Product:  Development of integrated game developer tool suite incorporating PIX, XBox Console manager and other related GPU, CPU, Kinnect and Network management tools.

Magneto IT Pro _ 2013   2014

Client: Microsoft  www.microsoft.com
Role:  V-Team Lead / Creative Director / Designer (FTE)
Project: Development of a unified IT Pro UX system for highly scaled and complex applications.
Problem/Task:  Scale and complexity of IT applications within Microsoft exceeded the capabilities of current IT Pro approach of MMC ( Microsoft Management Console ) and the Windows8/Phone METRO design standards.
Process: Formation and leadership of an agile UX cross division V-Team that incorporated the majority of the IT Pro tools at Microsoft. The co-located team conducted benchmark analysis, user research, problem definition, formation of experience hypothesis, prototyping in medium and hi fidelity, user testing and design iteration, visual design, patterns and guidelines of a IT pro design language and production.
Solution/Product: Microsoft’s Next Generation UX approach for the IT Pro space within the Server and Tools Division deployed within products and in a reference site of patterns and practices.

Project:  Design Server 2012 UX as the next generation server management experience.
Problem/Task:  The scale and complexity managing server systems had outstripped the capability of the current Microsoft IT Pro paradigm.  A new modern UX system was needed to deal with modern Server and Cloud management workflows.

Project: Research and Develop
Problem/Task:  Research and develop new UX approaches to managing complex IT pro products and services.
Process:  Benchmark analysis, user research, problem definition, formation of experience hypothesis, prototyping in medium and hi fidelity, user testing and design iteration, visual design and production.
Solution/Product:  The development of advanced prototypes, user models, brand, UI patterns and visual design standards and evangelization of their use.  These standards and practices were successfully deployed in products including System Center, In Tune and Windows Server 8.

Project: V.1 Development of Amazon Source _ a wholesale offering by Amazon.
Problem/Task:  A new business at Amazon required a name, brand and complete SAAS solution.
Process:  Benchmark analysis, service name and brand, site architecture, prototyping, design iteration, visual design and production.

NOKIA OVI Photo Sharing (UX PM / Architect )

OVI is Nokia’s global social networking site. This project successfully launched the new photo sharing section of the site.

Amazon Payments is a service offered by Amazon which includes online checkout, text pay, text buy and other online and mobile payment services.  This project successful brought to market the site and mobile service.

InfoSpace Visual Search Products ( UX Architect/Creative Director )

InfoSpace is an international search and wireless solutions provider.  This project was an R&D initiative focused on search methods that could be distributed in the market on a viral basis.  Three innovative viral search products were successfully developed and deployed online.

Cafe’ V (UX Architect / Product Designer)

Café “V” is a venture incubator project incorporating social networking sites and a network of physical cafes focused on accelerating the adoption of sustainable/green solutions.  A full concept development and feasibility analysis was successfully developed for the venture firm.

Microsoft Global Support_Project METROPOLIS (UX / PM / Architect)

The Metropolis project integrated 12 separate applications used by the Microsoft support division.  A comprehensive UX style guide was developed that included architectural, visual design and interactions.

 

WorldStream (Creative Director)    2000 – 2002

Director – Creative and Production Services
WorldStream provided fortune 500 companies with streaming and social networking products and services.  Responsibilities included management of the creative and production services group.
Accomplishments:
-Built the production services group.
-Successfully delivered live streamed interactive communications events and brand and marcom assets.
-Developed the design direction of both authoring and end user interfaces including environments for streaming, forums, chat, polls and quizzes.Type equation here.

Girvin Branding & Design is a branding and design firm serving major international corporations with offices in the US and Europe.
Accomplishments:
-Grew the interactive division
-Successfully delivered film, interactive and online programs for consumer product and technology clients including P&G, Wells Fargo and Microsoft.

Prior to 1998 Reinhart was involved in film, industrial design, brand, urban design, real estate and retail development.
Accomplishments:
-Co-founder and Creative director of Ilium Associates – an interdisciplinary design firm.
-Co-founder of Workshop for Community Projects – an Urban Design Firm.
-VP Development Safeco Properties – a mixed use commercial real estate development company.
-Product/Creative Director for two retail store roll outs and Café Emporio concept a strategic planning project for Starbucks coffee.
Design and Development roles for three retail concepts including Starbucks Grand Cafe. As an advisor to senior Starbucks management was the lead of an internal interdepartmental working group, developed a conceptual model/prototype for a new generation store that reflects the evolution of the competitive position of Starbucks.
