Project<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

For over a decade Microsoft developed its technical tools based on the Microsoft Management Console (MMC).  The MMC UX paradigm was originally developed for relatively simple applications such as the management of a single server.  As the scale and complexity of IT Pro applications increased – due to virtualization and increasingly complex IT infrastructure –  the MMC UX paradigm became less effective.  Users were challenged by the cognitive load of the applications and new methods to address this were needed.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The UX objective of the  Windows Server 2012 project was to create and ship a new UX Model to account for these challenges. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Impact <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Worked across the organization and with key customers to deliver the following: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Conducted benchmark analysis, user research, problem definition, persona and scenario development, prototyping in medium and hi-fidelity, user testing and design iteration, visual design and production<\/li>
  • Developed UX Principles\u00a0<\/li>
  • Lead Scenario focused engineering (SFE)\u00a0<\/li>
  • Designed Server 2012 UX as the next generation server management experience<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n
